tea time...

Hola, bonjour, eh up.

I developed the 'storm in a tea cup' collage into a screen print onto recycled board,

and couldn't decide 'weather' to put some blue rain drops on it or not?

SO,
I split the prints and printed half with and half without,
which do you prefer? I'd love to know:)
adios, aurevoir, tar raa.

colour...

I'm working today on some ideas and have been researching some colour palettes,
I've sound a fab site called Seeds, which helps you find a colour palette, perfect for screen printing, have a look it's a bit addictive after awhile!
I've been pinning some of my faves for future reference here and some bright inspiration here and here.
Have a colourful day!

little dream...

This is the building where all the seaside 'mucky' postcards were painted in Holmfirth by the Bamforth  illustration company, before that they pioneered black and white films... the Hollywood of the north no less!

We walk past this building a lot.
(these photo's are from just before Easter, it's not still snowing! spring has finally blooming sprung!!)
I dream of owning it and turning it into an illustration studio again, with a floor for screen printing, maybe a little shop selling prints, books and cards at the bottom,
hmmmmmm one day:)
but for now it's a home for the local pigeons!

Inspired....

... by the beautiful work of Francesca Capellini,

I customised a black and white canvas of the girls for their new bed room
well, I'm still on with decorating, just waiting for the beds to be delivered etc... but starting to get onto the fun bits and being creative!... less of the filling and rolling on paint! which bores the pants off me!)

I love Francesca Capellini's work, we have a beautiful print hanging in our bathroom,

Have a look at her blog & shop :)

A storm in a tea cup...

I have drawers full of scraps of card, paper and packaging,
so on a chill out day last week I made this collage,
a storm in a tea cup.
It's very therapeutic arranging all the pieces together and I love collaging as a way to develop ideas for prints, a kind of sketching with paper!

Easter Snow drifts...

... some were 6 foot + !
... how are the daffies going to push through that!
The spring sunshine today will hopefully help!
